The film leans heavily on atmosphere and tension rather than jump-scare theatrics. Director Paul Hyett uses the cramped, dimly lit interiors of the wrecked train and the surrounding foggy woodland to build dread, while practical creature effects and judicious sound design keep the threat tangible and immediate. The attackers—wolf-like, predatory humanoids—are glimpsed mostly at the periphery, which preserves mystery and lets the viewer’s imagination amplify the fear.
