Contact support if:

Create a new, simple static structural analysis (e.g., a cantilever beam with a single load). If that solves, the problem is model-specific. If it also crashes, the problem is environmental (software, drivers, or hardware).

Ansys Workbench relies heavily on hardware acceleration. If your GPU driver is outdated or if you are using an integrated graphics card that isn't supported, the UI ( ansyswbuexe ) will crash.

This legacy fix often resolves crashes during the geometry attachment or meshing phase.

Locate the folder and rename the version subfolder (e.g., rename v232 to v232_old ).

If found, rename it to libiomp5md.dll.old (Ansys will then use its own internal version of this file instead).
