Published in 1955, The Iron King (French: Le Roi de fer ) is the first book in The Accursed Kings series. It follows the downfall of the French monarchy in the 14th century.

Before discussing file formats, let’s briefly consider the book’s importance. Published in 1955, The Iron King opens with the curse of Jacques de Molay, the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar, burned at the stake by King Philip IV of France (the “Iron King”). As the flames rise, de Molay summons the French royal family to meet him before the throne of God within the year.

There is a reason this book has never gone out of print. It is a brutal, beautiful engine of history. The curse of the Templar Grand Master, "God will avenge our death," drives the next six novels of betrayal and war.
