Scene 8 — The Quiet Evidence
We must conclude that Elmwood University functions as a semi-permeable membrane. It allows the ingress of normal academic life but sequesters "dangerous" elements into its architecture. The excavation in Episode 3 has pierced this membrane. As the students return for the Fall semester, they walk atop a hollow foundation, and the hollow is beginning to echo.
We are no longer dealing with a mystery of history. We are dealing with an active containment breach. The "Architects of Silence"—the clandestine group operating within the Board of Regents—are aware that the seal has been broken. The silence is breaking.
